Ephesians 4: 17, 20-24
This Sunday’s 2nd Readings reminds us that, as Christians, we have a duty to live our new life in Christ, but we can sometimes forget that, for many different reasons.

Paul on Paul – 25th July 2021

Ephesians 4:1-6
When we are Baptimed we inherit the promises and duties of God – to act as Christ in all ways: as Priest in Faith; as Prophet to the World; and as King to Others. St Paul, however, reminds us on the duty to act as One in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
We are all too aware of our weaknesses and limitations – and it is normal to be more aware of our failures than our successes. The same is true of St. Paul – but he realises that it is only in recognising and accepting our weaknesses that we let God’s strength work in us.

Hebrews 9:11-15
The Feast Day of one of our Parishes, the Feast of Corpus Chirsti, is a moment for us to realise that God is with us. But not only that, this Sunday’s 2nd Reading helps us realise that the Eucharist is the fulfillment of Old Testament Worship – where the symbols of God’s love gives way to Reailty.

Romans 8:14-17
This Sunday we contemplate the unique Christian myster of the Trinity – of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirt – who are each a person of God, but do not change the unity of God. Our faith invites us to enter into the God’s Loving mystery – and embrace his Love.

Paul on Paul – 23rd May 2021

1 Corinthians 12:3B-7. 12-13
As we leave Easter we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, and the Gift of the Holy Spirit. St Paul reminds us that we recieve that same Loving Spirit as the Apostles which makes us – not just individuals, but parts of One Body of the Church – regardless of who we are.

Paul on Paul – 16th May 2021

1 John 4:11-16
As the East Season draws to a close we reflect on the focus of John’s 1st Letter – Love of God. Love isn’t just what God does, but what God is – the Loved, the Lovd and the Love between them – a Trinitarian God of Love.

Paul on Paul – 9th May 2021

1 John 3:18-24
Our faith has its foundations in Love for others, knowledge of God’s commandments & belief in Christ as Lord. This Sunday’s 2nd Reading invites us to reflect on all 3, but forces us to ackowledge that these don’t ‘just happen’ but requre our action.
