Fr. Benneth’s Homily – 11th October 2020 (28th Sunday in Ordinary Time)

Today’s Gospel calls on us to remain focused on what matters, by giving us two parables: that of the Wedding Feast and the Wedding Garment. Both these parables use violent, and sometimes disturbing, imagery – but it does not show us an unloving God, but instead implores us to wear our love for him.

1st Reading: Isaiah 25:6-10a
Psalm: Psalm 22: “In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever”
2nd Reading: Philippians 4:12-14, 19-20
Gospel: Matthew 22:1-14
