Society Of St. Vincent de Paul – Corpus Christi Conference
Our Conference of seven members meets every Tuesday from 7-8pm in Corpus Christi Parish’s small hall for Spiritual Reflection. We arrange visits/events for the week ahead at these meetings.
We collect at the entryway of Corpus Christi Church after weekend masses. Moneys collected are used to help local people suffering the effects of material poverty. Any extra monies help fund National and International SSVP causes and emergency responses.
Our collection box can also be used to post the name and address of anyone who needs a visit from us. As well as responding to material poverty, we visit people who are sick or lonely or in need of some kind of support.
We support the Lincoln Community Kitchen, which runs on Wednesday evenings from 4-7.30 pm from a blue shipping container behind Block 160 Lincoln Avenue. Hot food, toiletries and clothing are served to all in need.
We also organise a monthly foodbank collection, which takes place on the first weekend of every month. Dates and lists of needed items are posted at the entryway of Corpus Christi Church the week before.
For any enquiries please speak with one of our members at the entranceway to Corpus Christi Church after mass or on a Tuesday evening.
